June's Letter
I have attached a photo of my brother and I while I am standing in the hole that Saddam
Hussein was captured in. We both spent 11 months in Iraq together. I returned home last April
and have not had the chance to even sit back and breathe yet. My deployment to Iraq caused me
to miss three semesters of school. As soon as we returned home, I jumped back into summer school
to try to catch up for lost time. During this time I was taking a full semesters load of courses
in a nine week period of time. I had no chance to relax and take a vacation like I had dreamed
about on all of the extremely hot days in Iraq. After summer school I had to start my semester
of 17 credits and next semester will be followed by 20 credits. I feel like I need a break because
I am so burnt out from school and working a part-time job. With all of the activities in my life,
time for myself gets completely consumed and bypassed. I would love to have time to take care of
me for once.
